This post is about one of my 45-second pitches at my BNI Chapter, BNI City Business. You can read the introduction to this collection here.
19 January 2024. Our first chapter meeting for 2024. To kick things off, a simple message. Quoting a Japanese proverb: If you believe everything you read, best not read. That was the core message, and the on-screen joke was a perfect example of this, somewhat reminiscent of this classic meme:

You’ll find the on-screen joke in many places online, in many forms. It fits well with my message this week so I recreated it in Canva.
I finished by extending the Japanese proverb to: If you believe everything you read, best not buy a business. I had planned to talk about how a buyer needs to challenge and question what they are given during due diligence, which is one of the ways I add value to my clients. Well, that was the plan, but I decided not to. Keep it brief, keep them coming back for more.
Off to a reasonable start for the year. Onwards and upwards!
