When preparing a business for sale, it is amreally good idea to think about why – exactly – your customers keep coming back to you, and refocus on excelling at the delivery of that why. Now, it is a good idea to always do this, but in many cases we get distracted, or lazy, or uncertain. We jump on bandwagons, and head off on tangents. This may bring in new customers, but the risk is it alienates current customers. When you are learning and growing, this is an OK approach. Once you want to start preparing your business for sale, you need to double down on existing customers to build loyalty.

Identify what your customers want, and give it to them.
