BNI Pitch

A Winter Message

As we head into what seems to be a long, cold winter, think about your friends in business, and how you can help them succeed.

This post is about one of my 45-second pitches at my BNI Chapter, BNI City Business. You can read the introduction to this collection here.

This week, I did a ‘build’ for the first time. I set the scene, showing on the top half of the joke:

I linked this back to the previous week, when one of the 5-minute speakers (Graham @ Browning Auto) mentioned (as an interest) that they loved animals. ‘So do I,’ I pronounced. ‘This winter, be considerate: If you are cold, so to are those poor animals outside…’ The members probably thought I was a bit loopy, and one even commented they thought I was doing a serious slide this week.

And then, the reveal. The rest of the image was added to complete the joke (above). Great response from the room. I was even awarded a door prize by this week’s judge.

I didn’t really get the opportunity to get my business message across. The reveal didn’t quite work (unbeknown to the audience), which ate into my time.

But if you are after someone who is considerate of your business needs, call me!
