29 September 2023. The final in my bad logos series ‘Another Lens.’ I scheduled this to coincide with the final BNI meeting under the current leadership team. I started this series with a ‘What Were They Thinking?’ message. For me, this one caps it off. Well, almost.
I had to do it as a slide build for emphasis. I set the scene by saying:
I have stressed that a good brand and logo are worth investing in. They can add significant value to your business. But get it done professionally. Don’t do it yourself like these guys. Christian Life International wanted a logo for their softball team. Their initials, CLI, didn’t express their faith sufficiently. So, they added a cross.
I then revealed the logo image:

This would probably be a great example of why amateurs shouldn’t design logos. Clearly no one took a step back to see the whole picture. That’s because, unfortunately, this one doesn’t appear to be real. No real person to blame this time. But it seems so plausible! I really wanted it to be real…
