Slide #19 - Build a business that can thrive without you in order to increase the value of the business.

This post is about one of my 45-second pitches at my BNI Chapter, BNI City Business. You can read the introduction to this collection here.

I had collected a small number of joke memes at this stage, and I was really just using them to decorate my slide, to sit alongside the message to entertain my audience. While the message and the meme don’t appear to be linked, they were: I had spoken that week to a plumber who was struggling to grow their business because they needed to be involved in almost everything. It all made sense in my head. And it got the requisite giggle.

The message is another that is central to Exit Planning. If your business can’t thrive without you, it is worth far less to a buyer.
