Exit Planning is the process of preparing a business owner to leave their business on their terms. This includes identifying the ideal exit method for them (exit option analysis), working through the preparation of the business to sell, succession planning, and identifying what is next for the owner. Retirement, a new venture, or a philanthropic challenge.
Our exit planning practice is based on the Exit Planning Institute’s Value Acceleration methodology, localised for New Zealand SMEs. This methodology is the basis of the Certified Exit planning Advisor certification, and often delivered in collaboration with other CEPA-qualified advisers in New Zealand.
Exit Planning is a longer-term coaching engagement designed to maximise the value of your business upon exit, while also ensuring you achieve you post-exit life goals. Developing your exit plan and effecting the changes to your business generally requires three to five years commitment, and involves a team of advisors. In most cases, you have some of these advisors in place (e.g., a lawyer and an accountant). Over the course of the engagement, your advisory team is built out. In most cases, our role is to quarterback the exit planning process – coordination, cadence, and driving outcomes – working in with you and the advisory team.
This is our premium offering, designed for business owners wanting to build their legacy and exit their business the right way.
